Lone Butte is on Highway 24, southeast of 100 Mile House–the “Fishing Highway” Numerous mid- and small-sized lakes characterize this area. The area has many ranches and is popular with tourists. Guest Ranches, B & B’s, and lakeside resorts provide year-round accommodation for visitors. Lone Butte serves as one service centre for the area, but the Interlakes Service Centre is now becoming an important service centre for the Sheridan Lake/Bridge Lake/Lac des Roches/Deka Lake/Sulphurous Lake region. It includes a Remax office, grocery store, RONA store, pub, car wash, cafe, sign shop, outdoor store as well as other small businesses. There are over 260 lakes in the Interlakes area and it is well known for excellent fishing, camping, boating, kayaking, hiking, quading and snowmobiling. The inticate trail system, which is  maintained by the Sheridan Lake Snowmobile Club, offers hundreds of kilometers of beautiful trails throughout the wilderness.
